Michigan is best known for its handcrafted specialty beers. In that spirit, we custom designed the site for comfort all the way down to the maps on the contact page. Like a well worn leather couch, every aspect of the site design was focused on creating a warm and inviting experience to mirror the company’s physical locations. The enthusiasm that 8 Degrees Plato has for their work inspired us to create a great product.
We wanted to align the site design with the 8 Degrees Plato brand. If you visit their store, you’ll find a mix of found items, reclaimed wood, and the melding of old and new. As a result our color choices were rich, warm and comforting. The selected typefaces were sophisticated and contemporary. We brought a boldness to the design that matched the bold statements that the company brings to beer.

Our handcrafted lettering and illustrations rounded out the custom experience. We worked with 8 Degrees Plato to elevate their existing photography to match the feel of their locations in both Ferndale and Detroit. We also produced new photography that played with angles, architectural elements, and featured the personality of both their staff and storefronts.
Need to pick up some beer on your way home? This site is hyper responsive. To enhance the digital experience we innovated a new system for rendering type regardless of what screen size you use, design and layout stay the same.
Getting 15,000 beers into a manageable database is a feat for the most experienced data wrangler. Our team, and a Mom, was able to develop an easy to manage solution that fit with the elegant look. This helped to create a seamless experience from the client managing inventory on the backend to customers searching available beers on the website.
